This model is equipped with a large diameter mechanical self-winding movement "Caliber 9S68" with a convenient calendar function in a 42mm case with a strong presence.
Despite the large size of the case, the design has a clean silhouette when viewed from either the front or the side by narrowing the tip of the crown.
The strong, three-dimensional indexes are in harmony with the presence of the case, creating a well-proportioned and imposing appearance. The simple silver dial, which evokes the identity of Grand Seiko, enhances legibility by reducing radiation.

The 9S Mechanical is a unique watch made by a manufacturer that combines the latest technology with the skills of a master watchmaker, so that the wearer can experience the high precision of the 9S Mechanical as he or she uses it.

The precision of a mechanical watch, which is composed of 200 to 300 parts, greatly affects the accuracy of the movement. In order to maximize the machining accuracy of the parts, we use the advanced technology of MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) in the manufacture of the escapement.

However, simply assembling any parts as they are will not achieve the precision appropriate for a Grand Seiko.
It is only through the manual labor of craftsmen with a thorough knowledge of the mechanics of mechanical watches and superior skills, who search for the optimum combination of parts, adjusting them in 1/100 mm increments, and carefully assembling them that the 9S Mechanical begins to tick with the precision that is only possible with the 9S Mechanical.
